Hi UKUWANS,

Summer is close and that means we are nearing the end of another school year. Before we begin our vacations, let's take a few minutes to catch up on what has been happening at UKUWA since the last newsletter. 

First, you probably already know that we had a youth dialogue event at Youth to Youth International April 28th. Ahmed Elmi filled-in for Hussam Salhi and took over the master of ceremonies duties. Elmi did a great job with the audience. I could hear everyone laughing and having a good time while Santi N and I waited offstage to be called to the microphone. Santi was as calm as a summer day. I, on the other hand, was as nervous as I usually am before I speak in front of large audiences.

Newsletter# 5

Hello UKUWANS,

Spring has us smiling at UKUWA World Headquarters. We had a fun, snowy winter filled with meetings, social networking, planning and DO-ing! The recent arrival of nice weather has us ready to move forward.

In March, we met at the Hilliard YMCA for the first Youth Dialogue. A big thank-you goes out to YMCA executive Gregg Cottrill for providing the space. The event was put together by Ashley Davis and led by Hussam Sa. Flickimage took the audio and video and Santi N and Jason Smith uplifted everyone with their music. Additionally, Abukar Arman provided feedback for the group and gave a wonderful speech.

Two Darby HS teachers, Cara Cooper and Richard Clingman also attended the dialogue and shared ideas with us.
